PCR - Gonna try it - Winter trailer parking.

We had a great response to the poll asking to try out a new trailer layout for this coming winter. It is worth it to try at least one winter and see if we can accommodate everyone. We would like to have anyone with a trailer to please park in the field directly north of the Pine Creek Road. Those who have side by sides, snowmobiles and ATVS please line the south side of Pine Creek Road. This week we will put some stakes and paint down to help start the parking of the trailers and try to keep it organized.

We ask everyone to please give it a chance - it is an idea. And sometimes ideas needs to be tested rather than just discussed. Remember the story of the bone in the ham. A young woman is preparing a ham for a holiday dinner. Before putting it in the pan, she cuts off both ends of the ham. Her husband asks, "Why do you cut the ends off? That seems like a waste."

The woman stops, realizes she doesn't actually know, and replies, "I don't know, my mom always did it that way."

Curious, she calls her mother later that day and asks, "Mom, why do we always cut the ends off the ham before cooking it?"Her mother laughs and says, "To be honest, I don't know! My mother always did it, so I just followed her lead."

Finally, the woman calls her elderly grandmother in the nursing home to get to the bottom of the family tradition. "Grandma," she asks, "why do we cut the ends off the ham before we roast it?"

The grandmother chuckles and replies, "Because back in my day, my baking pan was too small to fit the whole ham!"
